My secret? Jockey Skimmies Slipshorts!

Skimmies Slipshorts

Although I don’t usually discuss this type of thing in public, I do believe undergarments can make or break an outfit and I like to share great finds. So when I was asked to try the Jockey Skimmies slipshorts endorsed by Rachel Zoe, a style idol of mine, in The Zoe Report I couldn’t resist giving it a shot. Here’s what Rachel Zoe, the ultimate trendsetter and always on the cusp of new fashion, had to say:

Which is pretty much what I think! Why bother wiggling into something that’s a contortion act to put on, made me feel a stuffed sausage while I had it on, and had me counting the minutes until I could take it off when all I was looking for coverage and smoothness? With Jockey Skimmies slipshorts, those uncomfortable days are over! The coverage under dresses and skirts and smoothing under all my clothes with these slipshorts is exactly what I needed: seamless shorts that act as a slip, yet function as shorts. I can wear them with pants, skirts, and workout clothes. No more VPL, no more static cling + coverage and breathability mean I have a new spring and summer essential.

And from May 27 – June 20, Jockey will challenge America to “Seize the Day in Skimmies®” and expand comfort zones with a series of fun and fashionable daily challenges using the hashtag #SkimmiesPromo. Everyone who participates will have a chance to win a free pair of Skimmies® slipshorts and other great prizes. Challenges with prizes? Count me in!

Details on challenge rules, prizes and entry can be found here: www.facebook.com/Jockey

Love your dress!! i also love the picture with your feet out on your bike! Yea! We all need to let loose. My hubby tells me I need to stop initiating comversations with strangers all of the time when we are out.. but hey, let your personality show :-) Nice post. Because of my illness, I cant wear anything like that that compresses the stomach or legs, but I bet they would be great for some.

    please stop by

What’s great about these is that they do NOT compress at all… so I think you could wear them! You might want to check them out :) And I love that you talk to strangers - that’s so cute!

May well give them a try … I love my varieties of Spanx as they wick (ewwww.) during the summer for me, Will these, do you think? Are the leg bands invisible and really, really flat against the thigh? I like the look of the waist opening.
You look fabulous on your bike. That must have been lots of fun!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

They actually have a wicking pair, which I didn’t try… but I know what you mean in this humidity!!! They do not bind or squeeze (in fact, I highly recommend trying them on, since I’d size down - I was expecting the usual “shimmy and squeeze” to get them on!) They are flat against the thigh, but it would depend on the pant as to whether or not they would show. Mine didn’t show through my yoga pants, don’t show through jeans, and truly were a blessing on the bike with everything Chloe had me trying - and we totally had a blast, which I think does show!!!

Looking so radiant in your dress! Love it! And yes, I’ve had that instance when I wasn’t comfortable of my shorts while wearing a skirt. LOL. It can definitely ruin a fun day and I’m actually looking for the best slip shorts! :)

  • Robin Rue

I think I need to give them a try! They sound awesome.

  • Debbie Denny

Very cool! I hadn’t seen those, but I would definitely try them! I actually wear skorts all summer long because they have the shorts built in!

I love those! They would certainly be perfect under sundresses. I would also love to win prizes. Count me in!

  • Mama to 5 Blessings

  • Vanessa Marquiss Barker

I’m fairly certain I NEED THESE!!!!

You look great to begin with so it’s hard to know what the Skinnies are “skinnying”, Having said that, I find your video pretty compelling and I may try to score a pair. If they work I’ll relegate my Spanx tights to what they’re really for; 40 minutes of aerobic exercise when I attempt to put them on ;-P

I haven’t seen these - I’ll have to look into them.

  • Janet Eltaktouk

I havent tried the Jockey brand, but im a huge fan of foundation pieces, especially the tanks. I still havent tried the shorts but Im sure they are great.

  • Lois Alter Mark

That picture is adorable! I will definitely have to try these.

  • Amy Desrosiers

I could use some extra control, so these would be awesome for my momma pooch.

  • Virginia @thatbaldchick

I have to try these. I’ve been using biker shorts forever because I just despise traditional slips.

  • Wendy Sirchio

What a lovely photo - you could be in Europe, looking so fashionable and free with cobblestones (almost) in the background. I, too, wonder about the wicking. That sweaty feeling is so gross!! I’m keen to try these, though. Would they work under a tennis dress do you think, or would I need something more substantial?

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

HAHA!!! I know exactly what you mean!!!!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

They are less about control - more for coverage and sleekness.

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

    They are, they are!!!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

Found it on a curb and customized it :)

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

    Exactly! dresses scare me :)

  • Rebekah

Haven’t tried this brand, but I certainly love my spanx… which are uncomfortable. I bet these would be much better, and I love the idea of wearing them under a dress. I have a knack for erm… accidentally mooning people.

  • Danielle

I would love a pair of these to wear with sundresses. They look so comfortable, too!

  • Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell

There’s no static cling? That alone is a reason to try them out!

  • http://ladyofstyle.com/ Lady of Style

I love form-fitting dresses and I do wear shapewear, my “secret underwear” :-) It is just the added comfort, isn’t it?
Lovely photos and your dress looks so summery!

I have been meaning to try these .. but have been associating them with ‘slim wear’ .. which I’m not a fan of. Will have to give these a try after all :-)

I accept your word for it… they are probably very comfortable. Being a bit older (60) I need something else. I wear body shape- wear covering from bra to brief. And yes, it is another layer, and no, it is not really uncomfortable (sometimes too many straps). What I get in return is a size smaller and no lumps and bumps showing. My hips and bum are not existing, so I don’t have to worry about that. Underneath dresses that can (wind) blow up (haha, good one), I wear a thin underskirt which is a bit shorter and less wide.
I thought it was so nice to hear and see you speak. Confirms my idea about you. (Lovely woman.)

    HAHA!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

It’s amazing how the shape automatically has us associate it with “squeezing”, right?

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

You don’t look 60 and don’t look like you need any shape-wear!
It is fun to once and while hear our blog friends speak, isn’t it? (hint, hint) :) And thank you!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

    Yes, and security!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

exactly! no worrying about what’s happening as I walk!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

I would definitely try something more substantial as these are only a thin layer. Thank you for the compliment -I bet you recognize that cobblestone!!!

  • http://www.popcosmo.com/ PopCosmo

Oh my goodness… these were made for you!!!

  • http://www.nofearoffashion.com/ No fear of fashion

Hint, hint… haha. If you want to hear me (I have a very high-pitched voice, so be warned..) then go to this post of 40+Style. At the end of the post is a video of me, looking into the sun, making terrible mistakes with the English language….

I agree with you tht the right undergarment an make or break a garment. It is important to find something that gives good coverage and support and is comfortable at the same time.
