Getting Out Of A Rut

BEAUTYChloe GordonComment

Summer is the time where you can just relax and enjoy doing absolutely nothing. It’s all great, until your doing nothingness becomes a rut. You know, you wake up, watch tv, surf the internet, work, workout, eat, sleep, repeat.

I have reached my summer rut. I find myself doing the same thing day after day not truly taking the time to appreciate the fact that it might be my last real summer of doing nothing just being at home. I need to remember to appreciate it. To know that school is literally right around the corner and I’m going to be wishing for days of nothing.

This morning I decided to go watch some sailboats on a little island near my house. You can watch from the cutest little park and it’s so peaceful just to sit and watch the boats pass by. It almost doesn’t even feel like I’m in the same country, let alone the same town. It was a nice little escape to get out of my little rut, even if it was just tan hour of my day and a five minute drive away. Sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact.

And speaking of small things having a big impact, my Hawaiin Tropic sunscreen definitely was worn during my little excursion. Just spending the shortest amount of time outside you’re inclined to get some sun, so I made sure to wear my Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration® which offers experiential sun protection by pampering my skin with luxurious moisturization while indulging my senses with soothing scents and exotic island botanicals. Honestly, my favorite sunscreen out there.  You can find out more information about Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration® here!

I hope you’re all having an amazing summer and are enjoying your days filled with relaxation.

A Walk To Work

Chloe Gordon1 Comment

I’ve officially been on summer break for about a week and half. It’s nice to have zero projects or assignments to be stressed about, but I’ve always been happier the busier I am. There’s something so nice about being busy and having things to do.

I’m currently a sales associate and it’s a dream. I can walk to work and walk home during my breaks. I also love all the girls I’m working with. Most are super creative people so when we have time to chat I’m always impressed by the things they’ve done or the dreams they have for their futures.

While working is literal perfection, I’m struggling with the whole makeup thing here in Florida. The walk to work is fairly short, but by the time I get there all my makeup has been sweated off. It’s ridiculous. I’ve decided to start wearing three things and then I call it a day.

step one: throw a little eyeliner on
step two: throw a little mascara on
step three: put on my Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration® all over my face
You can pick up your own Hawaiian Tropic product at Walgreens to earn free gift cards by using Shopkick

These three easy steps keep me feeling confident, fresh, and definitely protected. The best part about Hawaiian Tropic® is that it offers experiential sun protection by pampering your skin with luxurious moisturization while indulging your senses with soothing scents and exotic island botanicals. It’s the perfect thing to put on in the morning before I head into work, because even though my walk is short I definitely need something to protect my face from the harsh Florida sun!

Be Adventurous

AllChloe GordonComment

What was your New Years resolution this past year?

Mine was to be more adventurous. To do more things that make me second guess. To do more things that push me outside my comfy little circle of safety. I want to be more spontaneous. To not make goals for tomorrow, but instead make accomplishments for today

I want to get out there and do things.

And you know what? This past weekend I did just that. I have lived in Colorado for about three years and have so many things that I want to do here. I have a little bucket list for Colorado itself and hope to accomplish just half of it during my time during college.

I have always seen photos of the Sand Dunes and I have always wanted to go, but it’s kind of far, out of the way, and inconvenient to get to.

This past weekend I stopped saying I want to go to the Sand Dunes and actually made it there.

It was seriously one of the most amazing experiences. Two friends and I woke up at 4 in the morning and made it to the dunes. We spent a few hours just taking in the beauty and feeling alive. We all had things (aka homework) we needed to get done but getting out of our little college bubble and experiencing life made me realize how sometimes homework can be forgotten (like really really forgotten) and life can be enjoyed.

We were out in the sun and sand for a few hours and we were all a little nervous of getting sun burnt so we made sure to pack my Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration® Weightless Face Lotion  so that we’d all stay hydrated and protected. Seriously, if you’re in the market for a new sunscreen you have try Hawaiian Tropic® Silk Hydration® Weightless Face Lotion . It literally has Shea Butter in the formula so it leaves you feeling hydrated and pampered — and we all know other sunscreens leave you feeling the opposite. You can find it in mass grocery and drug retailers and also online!

So next time you feel like you’re in a slump of responsibilities and repetitiveness get out there and do something. I know for a fact that you all have something that you’ve been dying to do — whether it be something as small as trying a new restaurant or exploring your state — GO FOR IT.
