Keep Cool: 3 cute styles to beat the heat

FASHIONKim & ChloeComment

Keep cool with fashion ideas that beat the heat. We have a few ideas that help you keep cool even when the temperatures are soaring above 100 degrees. The trick is to layer so that when you are going in and out of air-conditioning, you have a base layer that is lightweight enough for the outdoor heat. Our first outfit is a sweet little dress from Target that we love for the touch of neon in the hot pink straps. It takes the crisp nautical nature of the dress from preppy to perky in 2 little straps. Plus the stripes at the bottom add another unexpected twist. A sundress is always a great way to keep cool and beat the heat, although the word "sundress conjures up grandmotherly dresses! This one is decidedly hip with the bustier-like top (hard to tell in the photo) and form-fitting and flattering upper and funky colors. We love it. Preppy and funky!

Another way to keep cool is to make sure that your clothes are not binding! Keep it loose, and casual. Our next two outfits do just that, but in different ways. Our blue outfit is a shirt off the sale rack at Target that we found in XL. It looks great paired with a pair of jean shorts (can we say "summer uniform"?) and a basic pair of sandals or flip-flops. Casual and comfortable always beat the heat.

If you want to dress up your shorts and shirt outfit, go monotone. And for summer, we love all white. To jazz it up, we might borrow the clutch from our 1st photo in hot pink, but the all white palette is cool by itself. The purple necklace and nails add a touch of color and the silver Jack Rogers sandals keep the cool color scheme from head to toe. We would also accessorize with some white Ray Bans or Gold ones, to match our necklace.
